I went to a workshop today with Stephen T. Kay, the director of Get Carter and he said that Michael Caine's character was only in one scene and then the test audiences said they liked him and they transformed to movie to have Michael Caine as the bad guy, I personally would like to see the directors original vision...

Me too. With 15 producers, the director didn't have a chance.
