What happened to Oliver, the boyfriend?

I have only seen this movie on Lifetime so I assume some of the scenes were omitted. Maybe someone who has seen this movie when it was released at the theater or on VHS can answer this question. What happened to Iris' boyfriend Oliver? Obviously their relationship didn't work out after she left her husband and gave up everything to be with him. However, the version I saw on Lifetime never indicates what happened between them and why it didn't work out. In the flashback scenes she was so confident and so in love with this guy I would like to know why she didn't stay with him. I appreciate any insights into this. Also, are they ever going to release this on DVD? Sure wish they would!
