For Our Daughters

That's the way the credits began - "For Our Daughters" - and then we see faces/names of the cast, but in an order that didn't make sense to me in terms of their prominence in the film, or as far as I can recall in terms of the order of their appearance in it.

I wondered if the 'For Our Daughters' bit was what they all wanted to say as parents of daughters themselves?

I think that it makes sense for to be for ALL of our daughters.

In the commentary, writer/director Rod Lurie stated that he felt that a lot of fathers become feminists the day their daughters are born because they want them to be able to dream big and not feel oppressed or restricted from those big dreams. That's why he put that in there. Like any dedication, it has nothing to do with the cast credits that follow.

Not for my daughter. I'm gonna teach her that being a home wrecker is on the same level as scum and if you do it then it's anyone's business.
