Number 4 at GameFAQs

I'm posting this here because this area of the IMDb seems to have the most "Mother"-related activity. If you go to www.gamefaqs.com, you'll currently see "Mother 3" at number 4 on the top ten most wanted list for FAQs. If a game that only people who understand Japanese can play is that popular on an English-speaking website, then why is it that Nintendo has shown virtually no real interest in bringing the "Mother" games to North America? I'm not saying this simply to complain, but also out of a genuine curiosity over how strange it is that here we have a series of games that seems to have a growing fan base, yet there's no western release (outside of "EarthBound" for SNES). Keep in mind that "Mother 1+2" has been available in Japan since 2003 for Game Boy Advance, but it still has yet to see the light of day in North America. The thing is, if the North American fan base is really too small for Nintendo to care about, then why is "Mother 3" sitting at the number 4 spot at GameFAQs?

Uh, you guys know that the wanted list for GameFaqs is based internationally, right? And that the Japanese only mag Famitsu had Mother 3 at the top of the list for a long time...

Actually no, I didn't know that. I assumed that the list was based on user preference. That said, GameFAQs is in English, so it's surprising that a Japanese-only game would show up on the top ten, no matter how briefly. I'm sure there are a lot of non-English games in Japan that are very popular over there that we in North America have never heard of.

Just a hunch... but they might be waiting for the Wii to be released and Super Smash Bros Brawl/ Dojo. Cause I know the last Super Smash Bros games deffinitly increased the Mother popularity. Just trying to sell it when they know theres an even bigger intrest

But I do agree with you guys, it should be released over here

It should definitely be released over here, I'm keeping my fingers crossed... obviously it's an incredibly text-heavy game, so it might take a while. They should put a character from it in the new Smash Bros, then release it, hey they did it with fire emblem...

They did do that. Lucas is from Mother 3.
