Is there a save feature?

Metroid 3 is one of my favs for the SNES, I've beat it countless times, and I would like to play its prequel simply to consume more of the story. I have the original Metroid on my GBA through as part of an unlockable feature on my Metroid Zero Mission cartiridge and haven't been able to beat it all the way through. The game is very difficult due to the controls. You cannot aim and dodge like in the SNES game. But I heard all those flaws have been changed in the second game. But one question remains before I make my purchase: Does it have a save feature?

Yes it has a save feature, and room for up to three game profiles.

For what it's worth, the original Metroid had a save feature (with three slots) until they ported it over to the US. We got the password feature since, at the time, they hadn't quite perfected the battery save and Metroid in Japan was on their readable/writable disk system instead of a cartridge.

I think Zelda was the first with the battery save. Ugh, can you imagine a password system for that game?
