roxanne

Does anyone miss roxanne? I wish she and max could be in another movie or a tv show about them together

reply

I love Roxanne!
This movie rocks, but it's kind of a shame that she didn't even get mentioned. Even if they weren't still dating, I'm sure they'd remain friends. We have to assume that she attended a different college. She appeared on the House of Mouse with him, but their visits there probably took place during the years between AGM and AEGM. And then there's Max's other girlfriend, Mona...the one he brought home for the holidays in another cartoon. I didn't like her as much as Roxanne, so if he were going to wind up married to one of them I'd kinda prefer Roxie, but Mona was cool too.

I believe HofM occurred after AEGM. Goofy respects Max's independence and Max is more mellow to his father, which makes more sense coming after the second film rather than before. Plus, Max would have to be college age in order to be a valet.

I see your logic there...it's just that I never got the sense that they really put that much thought into HoM. Like, they didn't necessarily want to get into more Max/Goofy father-son tension and drama with it, and I figured that Max's job there would've been his first (my first job came at age 17 when I was able to get working papers, and I did it the summer between junior and senior years of high school.) Just didn't seem as logical to me to think that Roxanne would suddenly show up as his date again when there was no mention of her in this movie...as I said, I had no doubt that they'd stay in touch and remain friends. They even could have agreed to consider picking up where they left off at some point in the future, or maintained a long-distance relationship, but that wasn't indicated at all.
