I'm just amazed at the beautiful scenery of Kenya.
The story is a German version of the Love Boat and it's a relaxing albeit soporific story of passengers visiting a relative in the area.
I don't believe the current political situation will make this still a place to visit however.
"Das Traumschiff" is running on TV since 1981. The first few episodes the interior scenes have been filmed mostly in a studio in Hamburg. But approx. starrting year 3 they're filming on location around the world. Even the boat scenes are real on location.
There are always ONLY two episodes per year - from Bali, Canada to Bahamas, Kilimajiaro, Australia etc.
Sure, the stories are "kitsch". The show had great guest stars: Maria Schell (from the "cimmarron", "Superman"), Karin Dor (Bond Girl in "You only live twice"), even J.R. Ewing aka Larry Hagman guest starred in one episode. I'm awaiting now Joan Collins :-) - ok, its just a dream.
