Ending sequence music

Does anyone know the name of the haunting 1920's weimar cabaret style tune that plays over the end titles of each episode?

reply

The song (played over the end credits of the first two episodes) is an instrumental version of "The Ballad of Mack the Knife" by Kurt Weill and Bertolt Brecht. I've been trying to track down this version, without success...

Unfortunately, it doesn't appear on the DVD (presumably for copyright reasons): the ending for all of those episodes (as well as the title sequence) is the haunting 'Denn Alles Fleisch, Es Ist Wie Gras', from 'Ein Deutsches Requiem' by Brahms.

Cheers,
Peter

I think the specific recording ("Die Moritat Von Mackie Messer" from the Kleine Dreigroschenmusik suite) is a 1931 recording of Otto Klemperer conducting the Orchester Der Berliner Staatsoper. Web-search 724357546522 for a recent CD release that includes this.
