Brilliant, but not long enough...

This is a fantastic version, although I wish there would have been more scenes with Jane and Rochester. Sorcha Cusack was a great Jane, but it was Michael Jayston that stole the movie. When he was on screen, I couldn't take my eyes off of him. I only wish there had been more scenes of the courting before the wedding - it would have been a hoot to see him in Millcote with Jane, trying to buy her gifts and all. I also wished they would have had some short scenes at Thornfield after Jane left. I know it would have been sad, but Jayston would have been heartbreaking and brilliant. All the same, I can't say enough about him. He really was the best Rochester I've ever seen.

That is one of my favourite scenes from the novel- when they go to Millcote. It might have been too much wonderfulness, though. I don't think I could have taken it :) I wouldn't trust anyone but Michael and Sorcha to pull off that scene.
