Does anyone know the tune that Jane plays when she is asked if she can play the piano by Mr. Rochester? You can hear it in this 'YouTube' video, between 6m 37s and 6m 57s:

It sounds like a lullaby to me; but which one? I will welcome any piece of information about this!

Not sure - I had in my mind that it was one of Beethoven's sonatas, but I don't think so. Poss Lizst or Schumann?

I like how she really does play like a schoolgirl rather than a maestro!! A bit clangy and dull.

Yes, it is quite possible the tune might be a sonata. In any case, I'm inclined to believe it is prior to Beethoven - and British...
