In praise of Michael Jayston!

He is so very good as Rochester. He is, by turns, sarcastic, witty, melancholy, sorrowful, hopelessly romantic--in short, he is fabulous, and I'm an '83 Dalton girl.

I love Michael Jayston in this role, which is so unlike most other Rochesters--yet he still captures the character perfectly. There's something so unique and wonderful about his take on Rochester.

I haven't watched this version in years but writing this is making me feel very nostalgic. I think I'm off to grab my Acorn video DVD's!

Agreed, jinx Malone.

If there aren't any skeletons in a man's closet, there's probably a Bertha in his attic.

Jayston is the best Rochester ever. Ever.
