Cancelled WAY too early

This show was like a sophisticated, more realistic "Friends." It was kind of a slice of life show. there were no exaggerated silly events, but it was still funny and dramatic and (in my opinion) addicting. It was cancelled way too early. I'd still be watching it now, 7 years later and they probably would have been able to keep it fresh if it was still on. I'm glad Amanda Peet has been so successful in her career but I seriously wish this show was still on. It was so smart and entertaining and sweet. Ivan Seregei was also great and I wish he got more leading roles- he is gorgeous. Also, it really upsets me that it didnt have a proper ending. The ending was a cliffhanger and then they didn't get renewed and that is just so unfortunate when a television show resignates with you so much that you want to see what happens to the characters but then you're struck back to reality. I guess this show was way too smart for tv, especially the WB. It truly is a sleeper and a lost treasure. Bummer.

It sure was. I was really disappointed to find out there would be no continuation.
And it was SO much better than "Friends".

Go figure...

I agree i remember how sad i was when this show was cancelled. It was amazing and funny and really should have been giving a better chance. I agree as seeing it to be one of the next friends... Its sad now to see how networks barely give shows a chance... I mean if you pull a show after four eppys like a lot of networks do now you dont even give it a chance to build an audience.. This show could have been promoted more and showed reruns and it would have been awesome!

Way, way, WAAAAY too early!
I agree with everything the OP said. And the lack of "closure" is just devastating. OK, so the expression is a bit much, but really, this was one of the few TV series where I actually did care about what would happen to the characters.

Yep, it was too sweet, too intelligent, too lifelike, I guess, for American TV to develop it.
And the damage can't be undone even if they filmed a sequel, because I don't want to see other people playing those characters.
Unless they cast the same people.
That would be OK.

So agree with you about no closure. That seems to be the norm these days on shows. You get invested in the characters and BOOM, no more show. They seem to make the decision during hiatus. It might have had a better shot on one of the big networks.

I'm halfway through season 1 and I'm already disappointed that it won't last more than 2 seasons.

Not early enough for me. I found this show terribly upsetting and depressing, and I wish it had never been made.

I just started watching this show and I'm actually quite enjoying it. Sarah Paulson's always a delight to watch!
