Scariest game and scene?

I think the first scared me the most. Especially when the zombie turns around after munching on Forrest.

The sudden crashes and loud noises, and the music inside the main hall of the police station also spook me.

reply

Actully, he turned around after eating Kenneth not Forest, Forest was pecked to death by crows on the balcony. Lol

reply

It might be because it was the first one I played but the licker jumping through the two way mirror of the interrogation room in RE 2 made me jump through the ceiling.

Yeah, Nemesis crashing through the police station window was scary. Especially since I had made Jill stare out of that very same window just moments before and when the message came that Jill couldn't see anything out of the dark window, I thought that it(the window) was just another unimportant, background decoration. LOL, little did I know!

reply

yeah nemesis coming thorw that window made me jump i think the first time i play resident evil i was like 9 or 10 maybe 11 the first game i ever play of resident evil was the scound one i think i was 5 or 7 i could not play that at all it was sooooooo hard i think i kill like one zombie ever then,
but that was then i really good a resident evil games now

reply

@MOHFreak: Actually i liked the music in the main hall, i didn't liked the sound in the basement and the upper floors.

Tne things that scared me were:

The moment that the hands came through the barricaded windows in 2.
Lol and nemesis scared me lots of times but sometimes he made me laugh because he was so badass. And he blew away all those zombies with the rocket launcher.
And a 1000 times in the remake.

Yeah Nemi crashing through that window gives me nightmares to this day! I played RE 2 a million times before RE 3 and i passed by that damn window a million times in RE 2 and nothing ever happened but to my surprised as im walking by it in RE 3 CRASH!!!! here comes old Nemi!! Almost made me jump out my window!! But to make things worse, that mutha trucker stared chasing me through the damn police station!!! Usually once you enter a different room the threat was over, but with old Nemi, he just kept coming!! I think i was scared for like 5 hours after that, i kept watching my back, thinking he was coming, thats what made this game so great and scary, you just didnt know when he was coming and for how long would he come at you!!! Hell in the clock tower if you choose to eleticute his ass and you hang around long enough he'll get back up and kick your ass, kinda like a "how dare you shock me then stick around to see what happens." god i love this game!!

Resident Evil (1996) is the most frightening game.
With the pure wery scary horor music. The sequels are as moutch action as horor and the music in a horror perspective feels more plastic.

The most scary sequences is the first Zombie sequence and that Hall sequence where the Dogs suddenly are jumping out of the window and fast are hunting you to aggressive music. Both in the first game of course.

Shinji Mikami have the most talent for horor alongside with Lucio Fulci and Sam Raimi in my opinion.

Dawn of the Dead ´78 is the best movie ever.

The part in the police station when the nemesis jumps in through the window.

I first played RE3 when it came out (November 2000) so I was 11, what was even worse was that I played it at 1 in the morning, in a pitch black room with headphones on with the volume at full blast.

That scene did really scare the **** out of me when I was playing this game in the conditions I did.

Dogs through the window, RE1

Licker through the mirror, RE2.

Falling through the floor in the library, RE2. Made me jump, anyway.

Nemesis chasing you when you're trying to get the three parts for the Tram in RE3.

reply

The scariest one for me is in RE3. When Jill is walking towards the stairs in the police station, and all the sudden she hears the sound of glass smashing. Then a different score of music kicks in which turns out to be really intimidating with the string arrangements. So I "walked" Jill towards the stairs and in a split second NEMESIS JUMPS THROUGH THE FREAKING WINDOW!! And I have to say I got the biggest shock of my life when that happened. I totally wasn't expecting that!

The first RE game I played was RE:2 and the music used to freak me out a bit.

"Just gimme the godamn page!!!"

reply

Well for some reason zombies (The shambling human kind) freaked me out as a kid, mutant monsters I could deal with but the fact that the zombies represent once living humans who are now empty shells who seek to eat the flesh of the living.. is well.. disturbing..

In anycase RE2 when the zombies break through the window... (If I remember correctly, the cut scene happened in the library, you hear windows smashing and it cuts to the zombies falling through the windows on one of the hall-ways.)

That one scene really freaked me out.

reply

Female zombies are always scarier... because you are just used to seeing middle-aged bald zombies the whole time.

For some reason the bit on the bus in RE2 always gets me... because you can see what happened to all the people there and... I don't know... it's just bloody.

And yes! Nemisis jumping through the window gave me the shock of my life! Especially when you run to the next room thinking you are safe but he follows you... and the scary music keeps playing for ages!

RE2. When you are at the dead end and you check the monitor. You see tyrant smash the camera. There is no where to hide and you can hear his footsteps approaching.

RESIDENT EVIL 4

At the end in the underground hospital with the weird creature lying on the bed (the slow moving one with the deep breathe and the tentacles sticking out) resurrecting and chasing you when you pick up the keycard.

When that guy with the chainsaw is chasing you.

The underground hospital where there is a room with rotten meat in it and you can see maggots everywhere.

When the giant with the beard is mutating into a spider creature.

RESIDENT EVIL 2

The zombies sticking their arms through the barricades.

The morgue where the zombies are suddenly resurrecting.

The licker jumping through the mirror glass in the interrogation room.

The first time you see the licker climbing on the outside of the window.

Scenario B when there's a huge monster (kinda looks like a Nemesis beta version) which also breaks through the walls in the police station and chases you.

RESIDENT EVIL 3

Nemesis juming through the window in the police station.

Everytime Nemesis breaks through a wall and chases you.

When Jill is infected with the virus in the tower clock there's a room where all of a sudden a huge number of zombies break through the windows and attack you.

RESIDENT EVIL CODE VERONICA X

When you are chased by the undead dogs outside the camps.

when that mutated Steve creature is attacking you

When you are facing the slow moving creature (father of the Ashcrofts) that escapes from the cell.

Ah-Nuld: Get to da choppa, noaw!

Yes, you're all right. It was Kenneth.

And now for something completely digital...

I have to saaaay...

Every damn time the NEMESIS chases you in RE3, the other RE's didn't scare me too much... Well, except for RE1 (the original) which scared the *beep* out of me in so many different levels. Also you have to think, the zombies, shadows of their former selves, who may have been very caring and passionate people, are now just ravaging the city in search of fresh human flesh.

And also we can't forget that several B.O.W.s were created by (presumably) taking subjects from their homes, and expirmenting on them (which makes the game even more disturbing). The licker, which is a zombie exposed to further T-virus infection which acts as a stimuli for further mutation (zombie>V-act(crimson head)>regis licker(suspen-dead)>licker), the Hunter series of B.O.W. (which some people state is created by experimenting with an ovum, although this seems more plausible, I personally like to think that it was a human subject injected with reptilian DNA and then given a dose of the T-Virus) and the G-type, which could've been anyone (yeah, I know it was William but have an open mind here, say someone was kidnapped and used for testing), taken from their homes, expirmented on with the G-virus and turned into the ultimate killing machine. (Also hardly any people take this into account, but there's a file, a photo actually, that's titled "G code human test subject" and it contains a photo of a G-type and is dated on 9/15 (which is 7 days before William injects himself). Now either Birkin somehow infected himself before, had someone take a pic and someother BS (which is impossible), or apparently he's found someone other than himself to be a compatible subject for his life's work... I'm wondering what happened to this 'first' G-type, perhaps it's the failed experiment in the sealed lab in RE2. (maybe it was injected with a less potent or efficient strain of the G-virus and that's why it's classified as a failed subject.) (Birkin finished his research for the virus only days before his assassination in his labs)

I haven't played RE2 in a while so can't really remember - I think the bit where one of the Lickers or Drain Demos - well something really scary, jumped through the 2 way glass like in police stations (i feel like playing RE2 now just because I haven't for so long)

RE1 is deffo scary, lots of bits made me jump, and the music didn't help, zombies crashing through the windows stuck out most in my mind through.

RE3 is my fav of all the RE games, not sure if its as scary as RE1 - but comes close, Nemesis always freaks me out, even though I know the game inside out.
- When Nemesis crashes through police station window
- When I try and fight Nemesis in hard mode outside the police station
- First time a zombie jumped out of a car at me.

universal things across the movies that scare me:
- GIANT SPIDERS *shudders*
- The Crows bursting out from places.
- The voice that says whatever building/city your in is about to be blown up - and the creepy music that goes with it

Right before your first encounter with a licker you see it go by a window. That creeped me right the feck out, especially since I was playing late at night...

reply

the scariest game for me is number 3 becuase you not only have the suspence of not knowing whats round the next corner but you also have the suspence of not knowing when Nemesis is going to pop out. the scariest moment was when whenever Nemesis decided to pop out from a wall or window.

reply

After Jill is on her way heading down stairs, she hears something break, like a window shattering. i remember i stopped dead cold when i heard that and then that scary music started playing. i knew something was down there waiting for her.

then there were times when Nemesis would just say STARS out of the blue but he never shows up.

reply

When Jill hears the glass break, and the music is replaced with suspenceful and spooky music, i got a chill down my spine, I expected something like a horde of zombies which I could take out with my shotgun, but no instead Nemesis jumps in, I nearly fell off my chair

my favourites are
either 2 or 3 (i cant rightly remember) where you enter the back of the police station and walk into about 10 zombies in an office.....

and also when you enter the police station and go right ..you instantly hit about 10 zombies shuffling towards you....

resi 4 where you come back into the village with ashley and its dark and raining .,...creepy..

resi 4 ..where you enter the castle for the first time ...

resi 2 where you are running up towards the bus and you can see a bunch of cops eating a corpse outside a restuarant...

i love resident evil....especially 2 and 3
