Released late?

This movie was released in 2001. The kid playing Lloyd would have been 17, and his friend Troy would have been 15. Did the film makers have to sit on this film for awhile? Were they waiting for more funding to release it?

The kid playing Troy was in a Casper movie, and he looked a little older in that film. It came out in 2000 and Lloyd came out in 2001. The Lloyd kid looks a little older than he did in Little Giants. That was in 1994. Same for when he was in Jack (1996).
