Anybody else out there a fan of How to Kill...?

This is was probably the best movie I saw last year (or at least tied with One Hour Photo). Anyone else who thought that this was simply brilliant?

Yes.
The best part of it was that I never saw trailers and I had no idea at all what it was about. It was very good.

Yeh it's hella good! Ken Branagh is hilarious (as per usual), but I don't think its anything very special beyond that. I mean, the story just isn't terribly interesting, but that's cool cos all we really care about is McGowan's wit, hilarity, and obscene cynicism. Just a lotta one liners, but that's okay cos they're terrific ones and at least its something different to comedies about publicised sexual mishaps and just *almost* gettin' some. It's kinda like the books by Tom Robbins, who admits that his novels "have a plot, they just don't need one."
BTW, read Tom Robbins! Cleverest, funniest, most intellectual, most bestest author ever! (And I like the plots.)

Sure, but it really would improve if it was re-edited (shows the
disadvantage with the director directing his own screenplay - it
is then darn difficult to edit out pieces you've spent months
writing!

I agree with most of your post! I really liked this film, knowing nothing before about it. TOB ROBBBINS is GOD! I have read all of his books, but havent seen the only film based on one of his books: Even cowgirls get the blues...

This comedy, is quite original and different , especially for american stantards.... Coooll!

aCCept me for what I am / or piss off!
extravaganza, extreme, weird, *beep* :)

I'd never heard of it when I first saw it. Now it is one of my favourites! I have it on DVD, and simply love it. Branagh is fantastic in it!

I originally bought this movie to see John Schaech's small role in it... (he's the guy *Adam* who had sucked on countless nipples)....
But I have to say I now count it as one of my ALL TIME favourite movies... I love the humour......... I'm an Aussie so am use to the dry humour..........

kenneth was brilliant and so was Robyn Wright Penn....... No one else coulda played that role better than her..........

A movie you can watch 100 times and never get sick of............

Having watched over a thousand movies, I can say with the utmost conviction... this is the first movie that when the credits came up (and having caught only 2/3 of the movie, it did come up pretty suddenly!), my reaction was: Oh COME ON! That can't be it! Let's see some more!
Brilliant, in every aspect. My 2cents are, it captures the essence of life, in a very simple, naked way, yet, with a beautiful complexity of emotions. 10/10.

This art is a joy to view. Great pace w/ witty dialogue. Finally we don't have to build a bigger parking lot to drive that truck through the pauses.

Thanks for being, Mr. Brannagh along w/ the other principals.

It's a TEN.

Oh, I just loved it. I originally rented it because I'm such a big fan of Kenneth Branagh, and I was surprised how deep it was, not to mention hilarious. I wish Branagh played opposite more women that he's not married to, it makes for better chemistry (Think How to Kill Your Neighbor's Dog and Hamlet). I think another person that needs a mention here is Jared Harris as the false Peter, who just gave a performance that was full of warmth and something there, lying just beneath the surface. Branagh was wonderful, as usual, and sank into the part as if he were born to it, giving one of his top three film performances.

I really liked it. The only time I ever heard anything about this movie was years ago when I read someplace that Robert Redford had been signed to star. Then I saw it in the store and noticed Kenneth Brannagh (who I love) was in it, so I rented it. I figured that any screenplay that both of those guys had been interested in doing couldn't be too bad.

Rented it because of the obscure title and ended up seeing a great movie with some amazing dialouge.
