I Blame the Director

Don Stewart was great for years on Guiding Light as Mike Bauer. I think the director of this movie was to blame for the lousy results. I am amazed that the magician's assistant got the role..she had such flabby arms. I wonder if she was just another NC extra, or a friend of the producer's?

Hey, ease up a little. I agree that she wasn't the best possible choice as a disco-era Mamie Van Doren, but I think it's cool that Adamson thought her hot enough to fill the bill.

And I'm not sure, but I don't think that's really "flab" on her upper arms. I suspect that the hangy-down stuff is just skin. I'm wondering if she hadn't recently shed a bunch of weight. I've lost 50 pounds, and I've got the exact same thing goin' on. (I'm now working on filling up that slack with some muscle.)

There are a few other things that might indicate a recent substantial weight loss, and most of them can be chalked up to a skin that no longer fits right.

Now, what I really don't understand is that hair....

Oh, thanks, Hershon! I didn't know she was his wife. Now I understand why she got the part.

This whole movie is mediocre. Some of it is the director's fault, and some of it is just the story itself. Some of the scenes with chimp were funny, others were not. The acting was also subpar. I think making this into a comedy/drama was a bad idea, it might have worked better as a straight on drama or a straight on comedy (there were a couple of scenes that did make me giggle though it was still a pretty horrible movie).

Is this the first low budget movie you've seen? Honestly, what are you people expecting from an Al Adamson film?

I collect dead pigeons then I press them between the pages of a book.

Smerd, some low budget movies are so bad that they're good. This movie wasn't one of them, unfortunately.

I just sat through the whole thing waiting for the "surprise ending" (or so said the reviewer). What surprise ending? The chimp was sleeping through the crappy movie! I have to blame the director for casting his wannabe sexy wife as Kate, but mostly for those over used head shots!! How can two people be talking and never be in the same shot????

Then there's that music: classic piano during a fight in the doctors office, someone singing a song behind the dialog. Who thinks this up? And what was with that red hat on Bud? I don't even want to think it meant something when she finally stopped wearing it....

At least Plan 9 is watchable.

I have never been more mesmerized watching a crappy movie, than I was watching this one.....

regina carrol WAS sexy. i'm not a fan of soap operas, so i had never heard of don stewart before i watched this picture. regina carrol was the only member of the cast with whom i was familiar. as far as i am concerned, she WAS sexy, albeit in a sexy-older-woman kind of way. al adamson apparently had good taste in women and carrol DID possess a kind of star quality. i don't know if she is alive or dead. if she is still alive, i wish her the best. she has amassed a bit of a cult following, which she richly deserves. (judging from her filmography, most of her pictures were sex films, which are no longer available. what a shame. these pictures probably are worth a look.)
