Is one scene in the film ( I think its when Shirley Maclaine and Joan Collins meet at Liz Taylors house) Shirley makes a remark to Joan and Joan answers back.... "Oh look, its Gidgaghostaseed"... or something along those lines.

I believe she said, "Oh look, it's Gidget Goes to Seed," apparently a slight dig at Debbie Reynolds' past as the pure virgin in the "Tammy" movies...
shareyeah Debbie played Tammy in the first Tammy film, but was replaced by Sandy Dee in the rest, Sandy also played Gidget. i'm sure its a dig at this fact.
shareI think you're on the right track. Although played by different actresses there was a Gidget in the 'Gidget Goes Hawaiian' and 'Gidget Goes To Rome' films. I expect Joan's dig was a reference to this series by saying "Gidget goes to seed."
