I agree, this series was so boring and so stupid. I'd even go as far as to say that it was as bad as the '60s cartoon. I don't think there will be another one like the '94 Spider-Man.

Horrible Animation and Damn awful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It made no damn sense!!!! WTF would spiderman go to a counter earth and if there were a counter earth wouldn't they have their own version of spidey???? DUH!!!

Yes, this series is very bad, and it has nothing to do with being like Spider-man or not. This was basically a cash-in series anyways, fox thought they could ride off of the previous series coat tails. It had nothing to do with Pokemon, Fox had Digimon to target that audience. It was just a bad show.

The plot didn't really make sense (Counter Earth reachable by space ship? What are Venom's and Carnage's purpose in the series?). The message to kids didn't really make sense (It was about humans being hunted and cast out as freaks, while it painted all the animal people as freaks, save one episode). And finally, the Animation was unforgivably bad, it stuck out like a thorny weed compared to the other programs on fox at the same time (This was made in 1999), and didn't have any excuse to short cut a series to the caliber of spiderman.

This makes me glad that I was into other things (probably Pokemon) by the time they finally started airing this.

I was SO INTO Spider-man TAS, from the first episode right up until the very end. I was crushed when the show just ended like that and robbed me of my favorite thing to look forward to after school (anyone else hate it as a kid when a network decided they wanted to move on from a show and you were still very into it?). Once SMU finally aired, I had simultaneously lost interest with Spider-man and gained interest in Final Fantasy, Pokemon and other JRPGs that were super popular at the time.

So yeah, whew, dodged a bullet there. Sucks that Spider-man hasn't had a good cartoon since the 90's though. Even then though, I recently went back to watch TAS as an adult and it was terrible with cliched dialog everywhere. Nothing really there for an adult unless you grew up watching it, and even then it only serves to show you how simple and inexperienced your mind once was.
