Minor Frustrations (and spoilers)

I got this movie on Netflix a while ago and I kept it out almost a month without watching it. I wanted to but just never found the time. So I was happy to see it was on lifetime tonight. I really liked it for the most part. The things that bugged me were pretty minor.

Why do movies about good relationships always have a death? I suppose in this case, there wasn't any way to end it where we still liked everyone. He would have either been a pervert or a jerk or both.

Why don't they just pick a deadly disease and go with it instead of just saying something like, he's had this disease for years? Surely there are enough diseases where we could know. I don't get the thinking on this. Maybe the filmmakers feel that if they call it cancer or a strain of deadly mung beetle mutation disease it would then become the movie about deadly mung beetle disease and not the relationship story they wanted. For me it does the opposite, it makes me start trying to figure out what's wrong with him.

Here's a question for IMDB. Why isn't LeeLee Sobieski listed on the first page of cast credits? I had to click the 'more' button to see her name.

I'm done being negative. I really did enjoy this movie a lot. I wonder if they cut out a lot to put it on TV. Now I'm thinking I'll have to rent it again and actually watch it this time.

in the hospital scene the doctor mentions his leukemia.

About the only cuts made to the film for cable tv was the F word which was used quite a bit in the uncut version, other than that it is pretty much uncut, it has to be a sad movie or lifetime would not run it.....lol

P.S. LeeLee is not in the first page on IMDb because the names are listed alphabetically

I think the movie was cheapened with the whole death thing. It is basically so cliche and it is an overused formula in hollywood tearjerkers. Even though it was well done, I was hoping it wouldn't fall into that trap. Even though that part of the plot cheapened the chemistry between the two, overall, the interactions between the two still are a cut above the rest.
