Leelee's best movie?

I've become a bit of a fan of the talented & gorgeous Leelee Sobieski over the last year or so. Other movies I've seen of her's include The Glass house and Joy ride (aka Roadkill), but have only just got around to watching My first mister...which I really liked. I think it's Leelee's best performance yet - does anyone else agree, or can recommend an even better performance?

well i really liked this movie alot...in fact its one ofmy all time favs and leelee played a good part and did a very good job but i still think the best performance she ever gave was in a film called uprising...where she played tosia altman...its a tv movie all about the warsaw ghetto uprising...very good for a tv movie and in opinion her best job.

I actually bought the DVD of "Uprising" (again, mainly because of Leelee) a few weeks ago but haven't got around to watching it, but will do so soon. I also finally got to see "Joan of Arc" (starring Leelee in title role) which was good, but a little too long. Will post back here when I've seen Uprising, but so far "My first Mister" is still my fave LS film.

I became a dan after "A Soldier's Daughter Never Cries". She was amazing. Great film!

TBH, im not a leelee fan at all(love that name though) but oddly enough, i love her in this film, manything else idont have the time for but she's so good in this, its a really great movie and she does a fantastic job, i especially love it when she comes home from her graduation and just shamelssly moshes out and looks a total nutter but still fantastically cool!!
or when she's unscrewing the womans 'difficult' piercing and she's just totally stoic, fantastic!

It is her best by far, a really wonderful heartwarming story, a true rareity in hollywood these days.

reply

I won't say it's her best movie but probably one-of. It's definitely a role that not many of Hollywood's youngins would have taken.

reply

Definitely her best movie. Completely out of character compared to any other role she's had, and it was a convincing performance.

reply

venus, may I congratulate you and Jason for spelling "definitely" right! Definitely a rare thing these days as the word will almost inevitably end up being spelled "definately". In the next ten years "definitely" will be considered incorrect. Definately.

Luckily, I should be dead by then.

And yeah, Miss Sobieski is great in this movie, as is Albert Brooks. I think it's one of those indie gems that some of us seach for endlessly. With hope. And then we find this one. The Station Agent was another such "find".

This is maybe her best performance, or L'idole I'd say. However the best film she is in is definitely Eyes Wide Shut in my view. But she has just a small role in that film.

My body's a cage, it's been used and abused...and I...LIKE IT!!

Totally agree this is actually my top favorite Leelee Sobieski movie of all of hers . Thanks nightcrawler71 for your subject post .

this is one of her best performances, but one of her other films "A Solider's Daughter Never Cries" is a definite second, if not a flat out tie

She was in a lot of pretty cool movies in the late '90s/early '00s.

I agree, but then the only other film of hers which I've seen is Joy Ride.
