I dont know what it is that still makes NES games my favorite

Maybe it's cuz it's the system I grew up on. NES, SNES and Sega Genesis were my favorite things in life as a kid, still my favorite 3 systems ever, esp the NES. I still play them to this day via Emulators and still love them as much now as when I was a kid. They dont have the flashy graphics of today and look pretty much primitive compared to todays games, I can't really explain it.

Perhaps it's just nostolgia? Actually that probably has a lot to do with it. Everytime I play one now it takes me right back to good old days playing them as a kid, different memories with each game, certain ones thats remind me of when I used to play them with my little brother, others that I remember playing at a certain friends house who owned that particular game (Contra for example always reminds me of hanging out with my childhood neighbor who had the best NES collection of anyone I knew back then, me and my brother would always sleep over his house and play his NES all night, Contra was always my favorite, I never owned it myself, but played it at his house so much I didn't really need to.) Playing them now is like the closest thing to having a time machine and reliving my childhood as I can get.

Well said, friend.

I think this is the ultimate in two player shoot-em-ups as far as classic NES games are concerned, I don't know anyone who doesn't get hooked on this game after their first try.

I remember first beating it at home with my neighbor right before we saw The Wizard in 1989.

Try not to take life too seriously, no one gets out alive.
