They need to make this into a movie! Here's my idea.

Now that Arnold is available and I haven't heard much from Stallone these days I think its time they join forces to make this into a movie.I know they are both way past there primes but I think the movie could be done if it was more of a sequel to the game.

The plot could revolve around them in the later years reconnecting for some reason.Maybe the one needs to rescue the other but is reluctant at first when he hears the other one is in trouble. They could then show him gradually accepting what he needs to do by having lots of scenes of him reminiscing about when they went on missions and show flashbacks of them doing missions together when they were young with similar scenes to the ones in the game levels.(have arnold as the rescuer and sly as the prisoner would work best)

Then have him gear up and battle his way killing sh.itloads of bad guys with graphic kills and lots of blood.Once he makes it to the prisoner camp he breaks out his buddy and together they kill a bunch more guys during their escape.

They then stop at a old crazy buddy's homemade bunker that they both haven't seen since the old days to recuperate. From there the rescuer buddy learns of the evil bosses plans and reason why the other one got in trouble in the first place trying to stop.

From there they create a plan for a total assault on the big boss's fortress with help from their crazy buddy's insane stock pile of weapons and explosives.During this time of the film they could have the rescuer find out the bad guy destroyed his house and maybe even killed someone he loves while they searched for him after the rescue and found out who he was.
(That could come before they decide to make the all out assault of the fortress to motivate the still reluctant arnold,After that he turns complete badass and wants revenge)

Once they are all prepared and ready for killing they storm the fortress killing hundreds of bad guys in the process. They make their way closer to the main boss but first almost get beat to death by a few young and superiorly stronger body guards who they outsmart to defeat. From there they confront the big boss who explains and tries to justify his actions only to be killed in some epic scene or after a cheap shot that back fires.

After that have some final scenes and finish the film on a generic hint of a possible sequel.

So Thats my basic idea for a Contra movie.
I could see it get made and make hundreds of millions.

P.s. Another detail is to have the obligatory falling out flashback scene that explains why they quite working together and talking for all those years.

I always dreamed of seeing a film of Contra with Arnold and Stallone but I think Ahnold is way too overhill the now, same with Stallone but less so.

Not sure if it should happen anyway what with pretty much every video game film ever made sucking.

I can tolerate the Super Mario Brothers, Mortal Kombat, and Street Fighter movies but only for their camp value.

Try not to take life too seriously, no one gets out alive.

Didn't read it but love the idea of Arnold & Stallone together in a movie. Too bad they're really old now.

jeeze.its not like its a whole screen play, just a few paragraphs but anyway it could be done in a roundabout sort of way

Stallone and Schwarzenegger are done as far as starring in action movies goes, but I could see Chris Evans and Liam Hemsworth in the roles of Lance and Bill. That being said, it would be difficult to find a studio who will fund a film based on a 30-year-old video game.
