Isn't it cheating?

I saw this movie when it came out and thought it was one of the worst films I had ever seen, then I found out it's actually considered a masterpiece and groundbreaking for some people but the scenes that are considered groundbreaking using digital to cut scenes and make them seamless, isn't that cheating?

reply

I agree with you. It was pointless and full of random stupid cliches,
but just because it has Michael Caine in it, it's a masterpiece? It
was terrible.

Nice going, Klaatu

I had the exact opposite response and found the movie in its entirely engaging and very profound.

It has some innovative film sequences and I like how the director used non-traditional camera angles to depict violence between opposing groups. Compare it to Ridley Scott and Steven Spielberg's wartime filming methods and you notice the huge difference right away.

reply

They were not non-traditional camera angles, they were angles or sequences created with cgi.

reply

Yes they were, and camera angles are not cgi

reply

it is cheating and this film is crap, nobody even remembers it.

reply

If this is cheating then so was Hitchcock in Rope. Which is of course completely moronic, it's called film making. It's the art of making things appear to happen. Not killing an actor in a murder mystery isn't cheating either.

reply

jesus christ, you are pathetic.

reply

And as always when confronted with actual arguments, resorting to name calling and pussying out.

You have no intellectual capacity to discuss this movie so my reason stands. I've seen your other posts and you're not even very dedicated to your troll craft.
