One thing I found unrealistic in this movie

Is that all the soldiers have no short term memory capacity.

A god damn miracle just happened where people were on their knees praying and 5 seconds later, they were all like "Whelp, I guess that's over. Let's all get back to the meaningless fighting and pretend the baby never existed." Not single one of them thought to themselves that maybe protecting the future of all of humanity is more important than shooting random people in the face.

Realistically, some of the soldiers should've immediately given up whatever they were doing and formed a shield of defense around the baby until it gets to safety from the war zone at least. The single shred of hope for humanity should supersede any order they were given. It's not like they have much loyalty to the crappy government or the rebels.

This is a Left-leaning film. All willingly enlisted military personnel in Left-leaning films are assumed to be mindless kill-crazy robots.

Because that's what they are trained at? To take action when their mission (or their lives) are at stake.

first, this movie is democrat party propaganda. therefore, the military is bad. soldiers are baby burners, not baby savers.
second, any military unit returns fire when fired on. i don't care if Jesus himself just appeared.
also, i doubt any solider would take it upon himself to do more then they did, cease fire to let the baby leave. An officer might order a detail to protect the baby. or, if they weren't being shot at, notify someone in charge and await orders.
in this case, since the enemy has the ability to take out your tanks, you have to return fire and advance. they would be neck deep in poo poo if they lost all that armor. then they would lose the baby they were protecting.
