Jingle Bells, Batman Smells

I have been researching the origin of the Jingle Bells, Batman Smells song. It has been difficult, since most people are insisting that it was simply made up by some smartass kid who proceeded to pass it on. I disagree. There is absolutely NO reason that Batman would get caught up in a Christmas song even if just for a joke; also, there is no way the song could reach as many people as it has just by word of mouth. Does anyone know if there was a Batman episode in which one of the villains sang this song? I first heard the song back in 1971, so obviously it wasn't originated by Bart Simpson. Please don't reply if all you can say is "get a life, you flaming idiot!" or something akin thereto. This is an enormously serious quest, and any replies will be thoroughly investigated for validation. Thank you in advance.

Come on, people, I need some answers or, at least, some insight! We have narrowed it down to a possible comic book entry, but we need to establish if it was before or after the song became a common playground jingle.

He who conquers himself is mightier than he who conquers a city.

Come on, people, my patience is being tried!
