Swimming With Sharks is a great companion flick to Action. One of my favorites, and so quotable.

State & Main and Sweet Liberty are two other, really funny, films about making movies.

I like ALL of the comparisons.. but.. for a, like Action!, BEHIND the glass view.. I'd recommend HBO's Arli$$. It was set in a sports agent, with much like Action, real life sports starts cameoing as themselves around a fictional story. Larry Sanders also did this (before Arli$$ too I admit) for the land of the talk show host world..

Beyond that.. I would say there have been some excellent suggestions, Swimming with Sharks, The Player.. Also and its DAMN NEAR impossible to find.. but Showtime had a SHORT lived series called "Beggars and Choosers" that I would highly recommend as well.
