loved this movie. im a big fan of magic realsim, in every aspect. in literature, i love gabreil garcia marquez.great movie, but i think amelie was better

Was that one of the themes/conventions? Got passed me. But must admit I've never sat thru the whole film. I like Penelope Cruz - I really do - but I find this film corny, trite, vapid and predictable. In culinary terms, it is about as stimulating as warm cream cheese.

I love these type of magic feel good films also.. Penelope is actually good in this. I recommend also Simply Irresistable also with Sarah Michelle- Who is also a magical chef haha.

I love this movie and yes its not for everyone but its a beautiful quirky, magical romantic comedy, and the music featured in it OMG..too die for...beautiful cast lol and its just romanticcccccc :) hehe

Funny, too. I got a copy in the mail, watched it last night and was very pleasantly surprised. Cute little film.
