First film of Pen Cruz that you watched?

Woman on Top.
I thought she was really cute, and did a very good acting job for someone who is not a real Brazilian, but I've always wondered, since the role was quite demanding of a real beauty and sexy woman, why didn't they just cast a real Brazilian actress to play the role of chef Isabella Oliveira. It would have been much more appealing to the audience, authentic, and believable. I believe it would have grossed a much higher box office for sure. So why??? Anyone? Was it just to expose Penelope and make her famous over night? Till this day I wish I had seen a real Brazilian actress playing that role. Is it just me?

The title of the thread is different from the content. But anyways, to answer your question, idk. Maybe they couldn't find a Brazilian actress who is fluent in English too. Maybe they just threw in any Latina who spoke a romance language in thinking it would have the same effect? It would have been better to cast a actual Brazilian actress, but then again Penelope was an up and coming actress here in the US and this was one of her few early American films she stared in.

On another topic, I loved her performance in this film. She was great, and her acting showed it. She has this ability to be cute and endearing while still sexy. Not that many actresses have transcended cute/sweet and sexy. It's either one or the other. On top of that, she has a solid and varied film roles she has portrayed and built experience from.

I loved her role in this. The character was so likeable, sexy, sweet, enchanting, and her performance was solid.

The first film I watched her in was 'All About My Mother'. It was great!

Jamón Jamón. A Spanish movie, which is very well done and she's extremely sexy in it. She was only 18 when she was in it. She looked younger, but just as beautiful as ever.

I loved Jamón Jamón. It was either the fisrt or second movie I saw of hers. The other one is Belle Epoque, an ensemble piece in which she stole the show. Both are hard to find now.:-(
