Underappreciated. Like, a lot.

I don't understand. I loved this movie, and it scored low! It doesn't surprise me that Rotten Tomatoes rated it low. But that's a terrible review site. They gave X3, like, an 80% or something. WTF? Anyway, this is one of the greatest animated films I've ever seen? Any comments?

i saw this on television once. its aimed at a young audience, but i found this movie quite sweet and satisfying to watch. you're right, this movie is underrated and its a shame.

I partially agree.

First, Rotten Tomatoes is just a collection of Critic reviews. Second, X3 ended up with like 58%(personally, i found it entertaining). However, I'm 19 and saw it for the first time last week and I did enjoy the film. I wouldn't rate it anywhere near the top of my favorite animated films of all time. Then again, I'm an animated film buff and can have pretty high standards. When comparing this to a film like Millennium Actress, Beauty and the Beast or Spirited Away it definitely looks bad. But when basing on it's own merits, it is amusing, entertaining and worthy of an occasional repeat viewing. 7/10 for me. Some of the musical numbers are very meh and the movie is very simple, which makes for a light easy viewing, not much thinking involved.

You're not actually serious? Wow. One of the greatest you've ever seen? You haven't seen enough really good animated films then.

While I hated it, I don't find it impossible that someone would like it. But I am astounded that it would be on anyone's list of greatest animated films. Unless, maybe, you are a lot younger than you sound.

If you have ever read the book, I think you would be disappointed with this movie. At least I was. I thought the actors overacted, the music wasn't very good, and the animation was of poor quality, even for 2-D.

Well, I am a large fan of Jason Alexander and Reese Witherspoon, which might make me slightly partial, but Hugh Jackman didn't make X3 any better, so maybe that isn't a factor. I have read the book, and it is my favorite of the three famous EB White books. But the movie was immensely more colorful, as childish as it sounds.

In fact, that's probably half the reason I watched the film in the first place. Being a musician, it would be safe to say it appealed to my better nature, and it was very eye-catching. I don't expect to change the world's outlook on this film by spreading my like of it on IMDB, but my opinion is stated nonetheless.

I can certainly understand how certain actors make a film more enjoyable than it might otherwise be.
I tend to be VERY picky about films that are based on books, so I hope I didn't sound rude in my previous post.

I thought it was sweet and cool. Not much else to say other than that I love it
