Great...until they brought in the chick....

I actually really enjoyed this movie a lot until the chick stepped into the picture. Since they united the brothers with her, it went downhill so fast that it eventually did a bunny hop into a river.

My point is that I would've loved the movie if they had just stuck with the story between just the two brothers and kept the terror and focal point with them and just make the girl the destination point.

you are missing the point bro..

when the brothers tell the trucker that there is no girl and these guys were just screwing him,the truckers actually accepts these guys' apology and leaves them alone...

but when the chick tags along ,the trucker once again comes back to stalk.
remember his lines "Now I thought you said there was no Candy Cane?"..

follow the movie closely bro..
the chick made all the difference..

Don't judge me based on your ignorance

No, no, I get what you're saying and it's absolutely valid. I just would've preferred that the film didn't have the girl in it at all but had done more with the brothers. That's all.

the trucker would've have had to still been stalking them to even know there was a chick around though, right?

but then again, i'm not so sure, lol - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3PSVP9LuRhU

Yeah, Rusty Nail wasn't finished with them. He even scooped up their radio shortly after saying he was going to leave them alone.

He didn't have to accept their apology. When he found out that they had been screwing with him, he could have still sought revenge. There really was no need for the girl.

I liked the whole movie but I do agree the girl was not necessary and was not even hot.

Come on, those nipples!

best part of the dvd is to watch the movie with commentary "on" and listen to leelee go into shock that it was cold on set.

Sobieski looks boring. Plus that perpetually sulky look makes one want to hit that Polack *beep* in the face.

I believe the introduction of the girl changed the dynamics of both the two brothers and the movie itself. Once she arrived, the movie turned into a battle for who gets the girl first- will the one brother cross loyalties just to get laid?

Add that to the girl being a terrible actress who only has her breasts to rely on (LeeLee's very own quote.) I just don't like the actress, and her appearance took away from the film significantly. Her breasts are very nice though, I will agree to that.

Now some say Venna was essential to the plot, pissing Rusty off when he sees the two boys with her. I think it was the reverse, that she was written into the plot and Rusty getting pissed off (again) was only to include her in the story. Rusty was already pissed off at the joke itself these two idiots did.

But that's not the direction the writer took us and I enjoy the movie very much watching it whenever it appears on the HBO channels.

Yes I totally agree!!

I agree, that the Venna character was quite unnecessary, but they had already shown her and introduced her in the movie as a friend of Lewis (the first scene is she and Lewis talking on the phone), and that's the entire reason Lewis was on the road trip in the first place...so he could pick her up from Colorado on his way home. Also, I completely disagree that Rusty Nail had accepted their apology and was going to leave them alone. It's clear that he was definitely still after them, otherwise, how would he know Venna had joined them if he wasn't still watching them? He definitely wasn't finished with them, and was only pretending to leave them alone because he's a psychopath, and that's part of the sick sadistic games he plays. That's how he got his kicks. He would make them think he was off their tail for a while, then come back as soon as they had started to relax and let their guard down. When he found out about Venna, it was just another person to torment for him, he would have kept tormenting the brothers whether she had come along or not. So if she hadn't been a character from the beginning, there would have been no reason to include her.

Yeah.

Totally agree. I lost interest when she showed up and fast-forwarded throughout the rest of the movie.

To me, she neither helped nor hurt the movie.

reply

I thought it got better when she showed up.

I liked her character but the older brother got really annoying with her. He got really unlikeable trying to steal her away from his younger brother.
