Can Someone explain the last 15 or so minutes?

Ok I just watched this movies for like the 50th time and I still don't get the last 15 or so minutes. For example, Rusty nails calls the police to report dead bodies for the boobie trap he set up but he doesn't tell 911 where he's located and the cops just so happen arrive at the motel he's at, how did they know where to go? Also one more thing I don't get is how Rusty Nails escaped. How did he manage to pull the switcheroo with the ICE truck driver he plowed into earlier.

Overall I love this movie but the ending was a little confusing.

uhhhhh, you do realize that when you cal 911 from a landline phone the information of where the call comes from is right on the dispatchers computer screen, right?

I think he pulled the switcheroo when he drove deep into that field before he slammed the truck into the motel. I think he put the dead (or possibly alive, who knows) ICE trucker in the driver seat, put a rock or a brick on the accelerator, and let it go. The truck crashing into the motel was a good enough distraction for him to get away.

Thanks for asking; I was about to!

The cop says "Looks like he drove for some ice company . . . " Since he uses the past tense, I figured he was dead. : /

Rusty Nail's "philosophizing" about the rain made no sense to me whatsoever, and didn't seem to relate to anything in the movie. Paramedics removed that pipe from Fuller's leg in the back of their ambulance? The brothers play no role in ending anything? Then they just sit there listening to RN on the radio, not bothering to alert the cops, after they'd talked about CB range being only about 5 miles? Really? Terrible ending.

reply

Wasn't the pipe off already in the backyard? It was not needed to show what happened after they heard the voice again. Movie ends there. Maybe they called the cops, had dinner and moved to Canada, who cares?

I'd rather had the ending where the trucker gets killed though.

Since the driver of the truck was the ICE truck guy the villain plowed into earlier, splitting his truck in half, and planted there by him to make his escape, the cops were referring to that guy's work when he WAS alive, before they drilled him full of bullet holes.

Overall, had a decent promising beginning but went downhill quick. Many implausible holes requiring a suspension of pretty much all faculties.

He says he likes storms, they wash everything away a clean slate etc etc. In essence, he was saying they were free to go. He had his fun and revenge on them.
