I really enjoyed this film.

A light-hearted and fun swashbuckler. I just discovered the outtakes at the end of the credits, too, cracked me up.

Your Joking right?

I'm sorry to be the guy to start one of these good film / bad film arguments, but this was quite honestly one of the worst movies i have ever watched.

The jokes were weak, the swordplay slow and unimaginable, and the themes were lame.

How this film recieved the rating that it did just shocks me.

It deserves a spot on the 100 worst films list.

I'm not joking. It was a cheap DVD, and it was fun. There are bad movies we like because they're bad. This wasn't intended as oscar material.

Hey, i thought it was ok...* out of ****. i hated how in the last battle with lord morton and talbert, they used the same shots over and over again, and you could tell!!! but the outakes were the best...worth buying the film...how much did you get it for? i got it for $5.

It's not a bad film for $500,000. It has 2 name actors (needed for distribution) that took over half that budget, then of course the cost of laywers and insurance leave this more like a $100,000 film. Eric seamed uninterested with doing this film, but Ron was very professional I think.
The script was created to minimize the produciton costs (1 ruined house) and it was created for 'family friendly cable slots' so it shouldn't be compared with more hard hitting historical dramas. Also there was a lot done to the film to mess it up by the distribution company (after everyone wrapped off the film) such as overdubbing a really bad Irish accent for Bob and adding a stupid narrative at the end.

I tell this so that the reader can know that one should consider films according to the resources available. I like Braveheart much more, but that was a $50 Million picture with a talented A list actor who was passionate about the project.

This is Mystery Science Theatre 3000 material. A friend of mine bought it for 50 cents online (paid more for the postage!) and to me the outtakes make it more than worth the money. They're hilarious. The film stank, but the outtakes are a scream!
