The Russian Commandant was odd when you think about it

An enemy that the developers put time and effort to to make unique. Three of them existed in the game, yet they had no real contribution to the game's challenge. They weren't sub-bosses, had no visible AI or health boost, gave no bonus when killed, were never an objective to complete, didn't even command the AI foes around them. And if the enemy is simply there because a Russian base would have a commander, why not have similar types like a Janus commander?

All in all, so much more could have done with this enemy type. At the very least they could have given him a grenade launcher.

Actually, they were kind of an objective in Surface 1. You have to shoot the commandment because he has the key to the door, which has the key to the safe.

Other than that, I guess I can't argue with it. I do like the fact they were practically dressed like Ourmourev (misspelled I know).
