Guns?

They had semi auto pistols in the 40's?

Why is young Carlo Gambino pulling out what looks to be a modern .45 semi at the beginning of the movie? Da *beep*

Gambino had a time-machine and used it to get one of those snazzy modern guns. Otherwise, it's a goof.

The M1911 is a single-action, semiautomatic handgun chambered for the .45 ACP cartridge. It was designed by John M. Browning, and was the standard-issue side arm for the United States armed forces from 1911 to 1985. It was widely used in World War I, World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War.

Off Wiki.

They definately had .45cal semi auto pistols back then dude.

The OP is hilarious. Think 1920. Think Prohibition. What made the 1920s roar? Ah-hah ... the Thompson submachine gun, or Tommy gun. Do you really think they had Tommy guns before they had semi-automatic pistols? Wow, some people are just clueless. Watch a couple of old gangster movies from the 30s. Most gangsters carried semi-automatic pistols back in the 1920s because they hold more bullets than a six-shooter.
