Historic 1906 Film Captures S.F.'s Market Street

You're about to see a remarkable footnote to history:
a film made more than a hundred years ago on Market Street, San Francisco's main thoroughfare.
In fascinating detail, it shows how people lived and traveled and dressed
in what was then - as now - the Golden City of the American West.
The film is well known to historians. But who made it? And why? And most important, when?
For a century, time, like the fog that blankets San Francisco, had shrouded the answers.
But now we know. The film is a time-traveler's glimpse of a joyous city on the brink of disaster.
Our trip into the past begins on a San Francisco streetcar built in 1895.

An amazing movie and an amazing 60 Minutes story. I wonder how many people realize how valuable it would be just to document a place as this film does? Just walking around an area with a video camera could provide an invaluable document 100 years from now.
