Don't let the americans make something that was originally British.

Don't get me wrong Americans of cause do some amazing movies and have a better film industry than us British, but however if you remake something that's already successful what is the point? Of course the argument is always the americans can't understand the English dialect, well fair enough but when we show an american show in England we never remake or re-dub it. We leave as it is and normally it is successful over here.

Now if we can understand your dialect how come you can't understand ours? it's similar to when americans are asked to name a few places in the UK they'll say London... and that's it. Most americans have probably nether heard of Birmingham (Britain's version also second city), Manchester, Sheffield, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Cardiff, Leeds, Liverpool, Nottingham (where Robin Hood comes from), Blackpool, Plymouth, York, Leicester, Derby, Cambridge, Oxford, Newcastle, Coventry... Nuneaton lol I threw that in.

When we're asked about name a few american cities we'll see Washington, New York, LA, Las Vegas, Boston, New Gloucester, Seattle, Miami, Dallas, Houston... anyway I'm going off topic I'm sorry.

My point is wouldn't you like your kids to learn about English sayings, and when they ask there parents what that word means the parents unless they don't know can research it and there kids can learn more about geography and England. To be honest if your worried about you kids picking English slang then don't worry there isn't actually much slang in Thomas The Tank Engine. It's bit like when I use to watch Kenan and Kel I learn't a few american sayings and also learn't a bit about American culture and what they celebrate and why.

Anyway going back to topic, when the american's and british dual make a film normally it's success, like the Bean Movie, Mr Bean was a huge popular show in the uk and started to catch on in america, there also talk that the american's wanted to remake that, but thank god it didn't happen but the producers over compromised and said "tell you what why don't we make the film together, send Mr Bean on holiday to america" and what happens it was success, why because we worked together. Another one Harry Potter, James Bond...

Best way to make things a success is to leave how it is, make a movie good yeah, but lets make together. You can have Alec Baldwin in the lead, you can have him along side Michael Angelis who at the time voiced the UK version, find a bit for Ringo Starr who voiced it at the beginning have various British and american talents involved. The one objection I have is, in the books The Island Of Sodor is actually The Isle Of Man which is not far from the UK. The Rev who wrote the books meant the books for the uk readers mainly, so lets stick to the books.

Now the story, oh dear :( I know I'm going to be reminded that Britt Alcroft wrote the film was a Brit lol but I don't believe she had full control of project. I can imagine she was under the influence of the american studio in charge of production, who probably wanted to keep the project Americanized I mean come on what on earth is a "Railroad"? or a "phone booth"?.

Now this may come across as rant and I didn't mean to offend anybody, this project could have been such a major success, the plot of this makes it worse and oh dear Peter Fonda getting cast in this an amazing actor, but wow what on earth is he doing here? He probably took the entire film budget lol! I tell what would have been a fantastic plot what would have seen the story set in world war 2! that would have marvelously. Get rid of the stuff about magic.
