Am I Really Alone Here?

Is there no one else on the planet who liked this movie? Do I continue to stand alone here?

I liked it, but maybe that's only because I agreed with Altman's critique of American women.

I think it's an interesting movie. And quite real.

No you're not alone. I love this movie. I am willing to admit its shortcomings but I still think it's a sweet, complex and funny look at male/female relationships. Do I think it's Altman's best? Not by a long shot but Altman on his worst picture (which this isn't) is better than most directors on their best. I also like this as sort of a companion piece to "Cookie's Fortune." Both movies were Anne Rapp penned and Altman directed. I have the DVD and I actually watch it. So.....no you're not alone.

No. I loved it too.

You are not alone. I don't understand why people don't like this film. I thought it was really good (7/10).

Yes you are alone...what the hell was there to like in this movie?
This was a movie in which we see Farrah Fawcett naked, altho with
trees in front of her while in a fountain, a naked Helen Hunt in
silhouette, and two very pretty women kissing each other...and it's
STILL one of the worst movies I have ever seen. The ending where
he gets Wizard-of-Ozzed in a tornado to deliver a baby in Mexico?
Wow...one of the worst endings to anything ever. The best thing about
this movie: Shelley Long. SHELLEY LONG for crying out loud!
Need I say more?

As much as I tend to waste my heart on movies that the ordinary movie watcher doesn´t like I can´t bring myself to like this particular movie. The point Altman was trying to make was pretty clear and the movie itself was very well crafted but to me something was missing. Something that makes me say, I want to watch that movie again, now just at the moment when the credits are rolling.
It´s very personal and I can´t put my finger on why this is the case. Perhaps I like the exploration of male relationships more...
But surely it´s not a bad movie.

I saw it once in the theater when it first came out (October, 2000) and I liked it pretty good. I thought it has a very good premises, and a very unique title, and would like to see it again on DVD. But I won't get acess to that until I myself get involved with women, and it'd be great to watch it with one cuddled up on her coach or chair.
