film cuts

Was anyone else as annoyed as I when they cut most of the best stuff from the movie when they formatted and distributed it? When they showed it on TV it was hilarious and witty and clever, but they cut most of that out. I was disappointed.

What? There were cuts? I didn't know that. How much did they cut and where can I find the full version? Please and thank you.

I have the vhs and dvd and the vhs version is much shorter. The dvd has tons more scenes in it.

What scenes were cut out ? I've watched it probably a hundred times, both on tv and the dvd which I own, and haven't noticed anything.

I saw the VHS version as a rental first, so, being the kind of person who's biased toward whatever I see first, I preferred that version and found the subplot in the DVD corny next to the movie.
I know for sure they cut the scenes of Jack's agreeing to Seamus to have the Fitzpatricks help him train the Leprechauns - I think that took up 2 scenes. (Though I can't remember if the scene of the mountaintop's snow drying in a draught between the flight from the swamp where there's learned to have been bribery and the training was cut). There were 2 later seperate scenes following that subplot where the brothers get the gold they're promised (which disappears momentarily as they go to another spot for more) and just before the wedding they threaten Jack and Seamus, until Seamus points out a spot on the ground which glows gold, adn turns out to be an oil-well. The only other deleted scene was just before Jack talks to Seamus about a truce - he gets caught in a twister and is rescued by the Grand banshee. I think that's about it.

The film version was better having cut scenes, because the scenes that were cut were irrelevant to the plot, and fit more as fillers in the series. really, the movie flows so much better without them.
