Go large?

Could a native speaker of English explain to me the meaning of that phrase, please? As far as I know (and I'm an interpreter of English myself), this should have smth to do w/ sailing at the highest speed but that definition doesn't fit into the movie's description at all. So I'm confused. Please, shed some light on it for a non-native speaker!

It was a sketch on a TV show. Becoming a movie means it has expanded and become bigger hence "Go Large"!

You are entitled to my opinion, whether you want it or not!!

It also means "have a good time" or a crazy time. "Having it large" basically means partying hard.
