i can so relate to ty

being a gay male from the south(oklahoma)-i know how hard it is to be true to yourself in the bible belt-this movie really made so much sense to me and it was so entertaing too!-i've probably seen it too many times!-but its always a joy for me-kudos to the cast and especially Leslie! just love ya!

i really couldn't relate to these characters much other than the fact they were ridiculed bc i'm a pretty mellow guy--but after reading the play I really related to Ty--I thought his character was gayed up too much in the movie. No offense, but that's what Brother Boy is there for--for the fem. appreciative one, and sure Ty has his quirks, but I had not imagined him as he would have been in the movie. I thought that the guy playing him was freaking amazing but I wished he wouldn't have been....'obvious' --you know. I would have just played him like myself, and I don't think i'm obvious, and if I am then oh well. lol

What has happened to the actor who played Ty? He doesn't have a credit since this movie.

reply

He probably never got another part because his character was so boring.

reply

He used to be on "One Life to Live" as Kevin Buchanan, back in the day. He was allegedly fired because he was too short. The actor playing his younger brother (Nathan Fillion) was much taller than him.

I liked Ty, who was one of the most sensible characters. It is a shame that he has no further movie credits.

I'm a gay man as well and I almost always come off as straight. Not because of any effort but just because I don't trust to be something I'm not. When I was younger one of the biggest ephynies was that I could be me and still be Gay. I didn't feel Ty's part was that gay.
I felt he played his part more tongue in cheek than anything else. More like he was trying to find his place in the community which I can relate to from my younger days. I'm 55 so things were so much different than now. I find peer pressure now has more of an affect than when I was coming out (1980).

I guess it must be the texting. No caps, except for Leslie. And four exclamation points in the space of three lines? Now try to express it again in one sentence with no exclamations. Check spelling too.

If that's too much trouble, why bother posting? Just want to be helpful. And "so" is so unnecessary.

If that's the best YOU can do, why bother posting at all! Havin' a bad day, hon'?

fredericksenr: I'm forced to wonder if over two years after your post, you're still a prick.
