Why did Keanu reeves take this role

what a crappy movie . and its only a supporting role for keanu and not a meety supporting role either . must be a story as to why keanu did this movie

Keanu was under a verbal contract with the director from years back, and did not wish going through a lawsuite to get out of it, considering it was his original agreement to do the film that eventually put the whole project together with financing. etc.

Why did Keanu reeves take this role

His friend Joe Charbanic (the director) first told him about the film during a hockey game; Keanu agreed to read the script, but then didn't like it much. Then someone forged his signature on the contract. Keanu realised that it would be eaiser to just go along than kick up a big fuss, because that would make the situation far more complicated.

It was supposed to be even less than a supporting role - he was supposed to barely feature in the film, just a cameo sort of thing. Meanwhile he's done lots of supporting roles in his career.

That aside, I didn't think it was a crappy movie. At least it kept my attention to the end.

Oh, come on. This is one of maybe only 5 movies where I felt Keanu's acting was passable. He did a rather good job acting in this film (nothing will top Devil's Advocate though, IMO).

"What happened to the American dream?"
"It came true! You're looking at it!"
