In the scene where she had the operation and Frank holds up the mirror, what operation was it? I can't figure it out. Why was she considered a freak? Was she a hermaphrodite? Do they ever say?
then the scene where she is singing and you eventually see that she is chained up, what happened with her legs? I got confused and thought that maybe was what Frank's 'operation' (or remedy as she called it) was?

Frank had her operated on, performing an abortion on the baby, (she got pregnant by David), and since he knew it wasn't his, (he said he was "sterile"), and also, when he put the mirror up, it was her private area, all torn and damaged, he had her basically castrated, (so that no one else would ever want her), remember the scene where David was in her trailer, and he wanted to see where the baby was, he put his hand there and was grossed out??
He had her chained up as a freak in the end there, so other people could see what the damage was, her castration and damage he had done to her.
It's always funny, until someone gets hurt, and then it's just hilarious!
