'Firecracker' made Ebert's Best of 2005

This is, just like Ebert says, A "BRILLIANT INDIE!" and deserves to be listed right along with CAPOTE, A HISTORY OF VIOLENCE, SIN CITY and MYSTERIOUS SKIN on this list! Bravo! Anyone who says they don't like this movie is just a immature fan of Mike pattons who prefers to vomit on himself instead of grow up.

Wow... seeing as how there are a slew of underground legends in this film, it is very unfair to say Patton Fan's are going to be immature in examining this film. I love a lot of Patton's stuff, and I see his fan-base as being one that almost always loves his next move. And they always open their mind to what he does, no matter what. If anything, they are going to be the number 1 supporters of this film because of that. I see a lot of Indie Directors and outside film makers downing this project, not Patton Fan's.

I would think Patton fans would love this. You don't know what you're talking about.

"Ludicrous speed...GO!!!"

Wow this is one of the most pretentious topics I've stumbled across.
An immature fan of Mike Patton? He makes some of the most experimental, progressive music around.
If you have listened to any of his music, particularly his later work I think you might agree that most Patton fans are pretty open minded! Unlike yourself
It's a sweeping statement to make, and I have a feeling I shouldn't expect a well thought out, intelligent reply...

Also, how exactly is Mike Patton not grown up? I would rather be the kind of 40ish he is, touring the world, being a music icon than the alternative.. mid life crisis, 2.3 kids, white picket fence.

I was first introduced to this movie simply because Mike Patton was in it. I mean because of him, tons of my friends got turned on to this movie. How can you classify Patton's fans as immature?

reply

You have to admit there are a lot of his fans who think its funny when people are hit and abused. I went to a screening of this movie and there were these mike patton fans sitting in front of me that behaved like idiots throughout the whole movie. every time David would hit Jimmy they would laugh. that kind of mentality is sick. I am a fan of Mike Patton's too, and I got the movie 100%. Well, or 98% at least. So I hope that the small, tiny percentage of immature idiots haven't painted a negative picture for all of us. I agree with Ebert that this is one of the best movies of 2005.

Only shows Ebert is sick in the head - he habitually disses Lynch, but suddenly gives praise to an amateurish wannabe-Lynch like this.
