This film is a joke, avoid it !

I just lost 2 hours of my time.

This film is a shame, everything is wrongly done, it's just ridiculous.

The scenario is bad, it's supposed to be a film about exorcism, the only exorcist scene happen in the end and is laughable, not only because the makeup of the girl is the cheapest I've ever seen, but for everything actually... In the cursed church Indiana Jones finally recover it's faith in an instant, in the crypt the lights come from the roof despite he has only 1 lantern, the kid never look afraid, he stays here like everything will be alright, the devil crawls on the walls like an alien... omg, I can't list everything it's impossible.

The battle scene between the colonial troops and the natives is ridiculous, we never know how many they are, when the troops arrive there's 2 trucks with around 15 men, in the end it looks like they're 100. Same for the natives, they're supposed to be 15 vs 30, and the battle last for much too long, we don't understand why the natives don't all die before reaching the barricades, we don't understand why they all start to kill each others, we don't understand why the colonial leader shot himself for a few butterflies flapping their wings.

We don't understand what happened to the drunk man, we don't understand what the antiquities man is looking for and why and who he is, we don't understand what does the silver jewel given to the doctor represents, nothing is explained, and things we don't care about are developped, like the past of Indiana Jones when he was in Amsterdam in front of nazis killing people for fun...

The whole scenario is flawed. There are French guys in British colonial territory, and even an Italian (The sanatorium chief), Indiana Jones was Dutch before, now he's british, Indiana Jones kissed the doctor after he talked with her no more than 30 words, there are too many useless characters in this film, they're useless and their backgrounds aren't developped, we don't know who they are at all.

The cgi is ridiculous, even for a 2004 film.

I stop here, please watch The Rite instead of this *beep* !

"Indiana Jones finally recover it's faith in an instant"

MERRIN recovers HIS (not "it's") faith in a moment prefaced by a string of prior moments that lead him to the conclusion that the demon is real. There was no "snap conversion".

"Indiana Jones kissed the doctor after he talked with her no more than 30 words"

Happens all the time
in movies ... and in life.

"like the past of Indiana Jones when he was in Amsterdam in front of nazis killing people for fun... "

Doesn't need explaining. Merrin is the town's priest and has every right to be in the scene. And the Nazis were not killing people for fun, they were trying to extract a confession of the Nazi-killer's identity from the witnesses. Merrin's capitulation to the Nazis explains his loss of faith directly, clearly, and purposefully.

"Indiana Jones was Dutch before, now he's british"

Wrong. He's Dutch in Amsterdam and he's Dutch throughout the rest of the film.

Where do you get such outlandish notions?

Esp. Indiana Jones would do that very quickly xD
But it somehow doesn't fit what we've learnt from Merrin's personality. He is no Indiana Jones after all.

Addition to other reply:

"We don't understand what happened to the drunk man"
Yes, we do. He was giving unwanted attention to the female doctor, Sarah, and since she was possessed, she was slowly causing him to rot and die.

"we don't understand why the natives don't all die before reaching the barricades, we don't understand why they all start to kill each others"
Yes, we do. With the possession occurring, the madness and chaos was spreading to the surrounding people/area, and the battle sequence was supposed to reference (or a recurrence of) the massive battle that took place a few hundred years prior with the knights and such.

"we don't understand why the colonial leader shot himself for a few butterflies flapping their wings."
Yes we do. Again, chaos and madness spreading due to the possession and opening of the ancient church affected the leader of troops, causing him to commit suicide, leaving the troops without a strong commander. This by itself contributed significantly to the chaos of the battle between soldiers and natives. One could surmise that with a strong commander to keep things somewhat in control, the battle might not have taken place at all.

The main thing here you don't seem to understand (ironically, I might add), is that the demon desired confusion of all people and the ultimate destruction of their souls. Chaos, illusion and induced madness were it's tools to achieve this result. Needless killing is a means to that end, so it prodded those weak of will in that direction, setting a fictional circumstance that led to the battle between soldiers/natives.

I stop here, you can watch The Rite if you want, but I'm most sure you are deft enough to understand that one, Dumb & Dumber or any other *beep*.
