Alternate Ending?

I saw this movie years ago and just rewatched it the other day. However i remember the ending to be totally different. When i watched it previously Edward Furlong's character was crushed in the garbage truck as the bar didnt hold. All you saw was a big smear of blood on the truck as it pulled away. I looked on the DVD extra features and there was no alternate ending option. I am confused. Did i imagine this ending?

reply

You might be right, but I wouldn't know. Sorry, but I only saw this on the DVD with the ending where Furlong survives. That would be a good ending though.

I SAW THIS AT A SMALLER INDEPENDANT THEATRE LATE NIGHT SHOWING ,I OWNED THE VHS AND I NOW OWN THE DVD AND THE ENDING HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE SAME..RON ESCAPES IN THE TRUCK AND EARL IS LEFT BEHIND...RON DOEST GE SMASHED IN THE TRUCK...

It would be a damn stupid ending as Animal Factory is based on a book and the ending of the film follows the ending of the book.

In the book the kid escapes and Earls stays - neither die.

The ending I have seen clearly shows him in the back of the truck alive. The red around the crusher is merely rust colouration - not blood.

'My name's Buck...and I'm here to *beep*

Are you sure you're not thinking of the ending to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles?

YEAH THAT SOUNDS LIKE THE END OF TMNT'S....I THINK SHREDDER HAS OVERTAKEN YOUR BRAIN

I think i remember that ending too. I think they cut the smear of blood, b/c i remember everything the same, except you see the car pull away with blood on the back. The kid lets go of the bar and puts his head back in the ending i remember, just like he does in the normal ending, but he gets killed. Maybe it's on the vhs verson, my cousine used to like this movie, and he had it on vhs. I'll ask him.

???? I saw this film on its cinematic release at the London Film Festival, I used to own the VHS, I own the DVD, I have also read the book. In each case the ending is the same - Ron escapes in the truck and Earl is left behind. Bearing in mind that the screenplay was adapted from Edward Bunker's book by Edward Bunker and John Keppel and that Edward Bunker along with Danny Trejo were co-producers and that he and Steve Buscemi were friends after Reservoir Dogs I can think of no reason why either of them would choose to compromise the original story. This "alternate" ending is pure imaginary bull *beep*. You also might have considered putting a spoiler alert on this thread dumb ass
