Where'd that come from?

Near the very end of the movie, after she kills the spider with the rocket launcher. In their celebration of its destruction, outta nowhere does the guy call her "babe". Um....when did they even remark that they are an item outside of an earlier scene where she ( Merci ) says, "I may even like you". Given that this movie isn't to be taken seriously, just thought that the script writers would give something more than a very vague line then boom, instant couple without telling the audience lol.. Great B movie for sure though, worth the laughs.
