What's the setup?

It shows a man in an ambulance and then it goes to Zacharia (Bruce's character) and you hear a beeper going off and it is his beeper. His job was to collect the man in the ambulance soul, but because he was not there the man lived. Next it shows Mordhicai (Ossie Davis' character) and he tell Zacharia that he has messed up one time too many and he is going to be sent to earth as a human for thirty days to learn about compassion. He goes from being in a casino to being in a field.
