10 Year Anniversary Edition In The Works!

Hey, I just heard an awesome rumor that they are making a 10 Year Anniversary Edition of THE NECRO FILES for release sometime later this year (Halloween?). There's supposed to be new interviews with the actors and filmmakers, new special effects (CGI), and a new ending. Maybe some other new scenes, too? Not sure what other special features there may be, but I bet there will be audio commentary... if that's even half as funny as the commentary track on NECRO FILES 2, it will be worth it just for that!

PS: I also heard a rumor that Todd Tjersland may be making NECRO FILES 3 this year. I posted some more info about this on Todd Tjersland's imdb message board.

I emailed Todd and he told me the Special Edition of Necro Files has been pushed back to maybe Halloween 2007. He also said Necro Files 3 might come in 2007 as well but no guarantees.

Right now he is shooting a new erotic horror zombie movie now for British TV called True Necromance (premieres March/April 2007) and finishing up his zombie novel, Deathbreed, which he hopes to release in time for Christmas 2006. I really wish this stuff would hurry up and come out soon!

Hey, there are three DVD editions of Necro Files 1 that I know of, but I think all of them are out of print by now. They sometimes turn up on eBay.

The UK and US edition are exactly the same and region-free, so I'm counting them as one release.

There is a Region 2 German subtitled version and a region 2 German dubbed version, and one or both have been slightly edited by the distributor. I don't think any gore or nudity was cut out, just some scenes moved around, but I haven't watched it in awhile and can't remember for sure exactly what they did. There was a Region 2 German two-disk box set of Necro Files 1 and 2 released a couple years ago in collector's packaging that included both the dubbed and subtitled version of NF1 along with the subtitled version of NF2. The dubbed version was hilarious!

NF1 was also released on VHS in the USA and in France (subtitled) back in the late 90s.

I haven't heard anything about the 10-year anniversary edition for awhile. It may or may not be dead in the water. A remake would be cool!

Necro Files 1 is funny. It is one of my favorite B movies right behind "The Story of Ricky" and "Demons at the Door". But Necro Files 2 made me feel like reporting myself to the police just for owning it. It went on Ebay the next morning. That one seemed more geared toward the rape fetish crowd. Maybe part 3 will get back to its roots: bad acting, Casio keyboard soundtrack and money-shot-free sex scenes. I want more flying baby.

So did it ever come out? All I have is a bare bones double disc edition of both movies in one case that I got in ebay.

New special effects (CGI)? So what you're saying is that they'll replace the pretty cool gore effects with *beep* CG crap? God...
