Differences Between Arcade and Home Consoles?
I have never played the arcade version and I wondered in what ways it all differed from the console versions. Blood and fatalies obviously, but any other ways?

shareI'll tell you the differences between Arcade, Super Nintendo, Game Boy & Sega Genesis because those are all the versions/ports I've played.
Arcade
-Blood & gore are automatically present.
-The bottom of the Pit has blood on the spikes & there are also some dead bodies & severed heads lying around.
-There is blood on some of the walls in Goro's Lair.
-The graphics look somewhat cleaner compared to the home console versions/ports.
-Raiden's name is spelled with an I (unlike the home consoles where it's spelled Rayden with a Y)
Super Nintendo Entertainment System
-No blood & gore (obviously) so instead of squirting blood, the fighters squirt sweat.
-3.5 fatalities have been changed.
Johnny Cage just kicks his opponent through the chest instead of uppercutting his/her head off.
Kano rips out something other than the heart (some say a gray thing, but I thought it was a Titty Twister).
Rayden just shocks his opponent until he/she turns into dust unlike other versions where he just shocks his opponent's head off.
Sub-Zero just freezes his opponent solid & shatters him/her instead of ripping off his opponent's head & spinal cord.
-If you face Reptile, his health bar actually says Reptile instead of Scorpion like in the Arcade & Sega Genesis versions.
-Instead of seeing/hearing the word Fatality, the text "Finishing Bonus" comes up instead.
-This is the only version/port where you can't enter your initials after you win a certain # of matches in a row, though the Hall of Fame is still present.
Game Boy
-Like all Type 1 Game Boy games, you only get very little color if you play on a Game Boy Color or higher (but can be changed if you follow a sequence of buttons when you turn on your Game Boy. Please refer to your instruction manual for this).
-Johnny Cage is missing & it is impossible to fight Reptile.
-The only arenas are The Pit, The Courtyard & Goro's Lair.
-There is a secret code to play as Goro.
-The controls are even more sluggish than the Super Nintendo's.
Sega Genesis/Mega Drive
-You can enter ABACABB to get the blood & gore or you can enter the DULLARD code & bring up an entire cheat menu that has the option of enabling blood & gore.
I'm not sure what else I can explain. If you're curious about the other various differences & similarities for each version/port, you're better off viewing any of these....
