Ralph Macchio

I didn't know Ralph Macchio could anything more than "wax on, wax off". Quite a surprise to me. I'd say give the man another chance at a good role.

By the way, the movie had a lot of potential, but didn't qualify for a second.

Wutta you talking about? Macchio was great in all 3 of the Karate Kid flicks he was in. Your either too young or too old to have appreciated the phenomenon that was Karate Kid, fortunately i was lucky enough to be a child of the 80's and loved every minute of Macchio & Morita in all 3 of their films together. A reunion anyone?

I was far from born when the karate kid movies were made and they were just awesome!!! I just can't discribe how awesome it was because it's too awesome to be discribed in words. It's almost my favorite Movie...other than My Cousin Vinny.

I'm thinking of buying the Colletion box set too...I wonder if they sell it in Canada??

Because he was quite good in Crossroads, Distant Thunder and Teachers! He's great actor when he's used the right way!!

the only reason i rented the movie is because Ralph was in it, i was at Family Video and saw him, i was like "hell yeah i'm gettin' it!" lol

I can't agree anymore gilnor83. I've seen MANY of his movies and they all pronounce his Excellent acting skills.

Not only that, but he keeps getting better and better. He's capable of recreating so many different character changes, even more so, than say, the great actor Harvey Keitel who portrays himself over and over again (he's so good he can get away with it, like Robert DeNiro), but Macchio has so many disparate persona in his portfolio, he's simply an amazing chameleon. He's capable of creating unrecognizable new features to the roles which he improvises freshly and uniquely. It's very cool to deceive the American audience, that has all seen Ralph Macchio films, out of recognizing himself. His performances are all so commanding as you just keep focused on the story and you don't mentally stereotype one of his previous recognizable roles, and thereby reduce the freshness of the movie at hand. That, and I just like the guy. He's always been cool, even when he plays a villain.
